Mechanical Laboratory

Mechanical Laboratory includes the following equipment:

1. Charpy Test:

This device is located in Mechanical Laboratory which is used to measure the absorbed energy during breaking the sample.

The following desription shows how the device works:

First, a sample is taken from a cylinder that has been heated and then the striker pendulum is set at the angle of 145  degree to hit the sample.

This test is done in standard dimension and temerature of about -50 degree Celsius.

Then, according to the angle of the picky pendulum when it comes back, the amount of absorbed energy is calculated in Jules by using appropriate tables.

By dividing obtained Jules number to the number of the cross section of the sample, the amount of impact strength in terms of J/Cm2 can be achieved.

The obtained numbers will be checked with requirements of ECE R110 standard, and the final result will be sent to the Quality
Control department.

2. Tensile Machine:

This device is located in Mechanical Laboratory which is used to do the tensile, compression, and bending test of samples that are cut from cylinders.

The followind description shows how the device works:

First, a sample will be taken from the cylinder which has been heated, is separated according to the ECE R110 standard.

The tensile test starts after installing the extensometer on the sample and putting the sample between the edges of the device and entering the pattern values to the related software and the sample will go nder tensil.

Then, after a specific time the sample is like a neck shape and it will be free.

The device software calculates surrender to device, tensile strength and elongation percentage and displays the
information on the screen.
After comparing the shown parameters with the ECER110 requirements standard, the report will be sent to to the
Quality Control section.

3. Bending test:

This device is located in Mechanical Laboratory which does the tensile action and at last the sample which
conforms the standards is cut to be tested and analised by a microscope to see  if there is any crack.

4. Portable hardness device:

This device is located in Mechanical Laboratory which is used to measure the hardness of big and heavy samples that that are difficult to carry.

The device has three types of probes which are used to measure the hardness of steel parts.
It also has the ability to display different hardness units like (HB, HRC ...).

The method of using the device is to put the probe on the part and to push the button
that is on the probe and as a result the device will display the hardness value.
