To ensure lack of defects on and under the surface, and also to measure the thickness of cylinder's wall an Ultrasonic Test is used.

The operation is based on sending some signals by UT Probe and receiving the reflected signlas passed through the defect inside the cylinder and after that  the result will be shown on the screen.


The device is consisted of :

1. 5 pieces of probes in whoch two of them are used to control the linear cracksT two of them are used to control transversal cracks, and one is used to control the thickness of the cylinder.
2. The devise stand in on which the cylinder is put.
3. Flow Detector
4. Other accessories

 

The test starts when the cylinder is on the stand and starts to move around itself.
Then we put probe holder and two amrs to put, on the cylinder and then we scan the surface. If there is any kind of crack on the wall, the scanner reports the defect.
