When cylinders are produced, they are equipted with a kind of protection system agianst fire. Cylinders are also tested by fire.

Remember: Since it is possible that the cylinder may repture, this test is done under caution.



The following description says how cylinders are tested in the fire test phase:

The cylinders are tested being in a horizontal state, in way that their bottom is approximately 100mm upper than the fire source.
In order to prevent the direct affection with the flame with cylinders' taps, we must use some metal shieds.Th shield must not have any contacts with the antifire system.

The result will not be accepted if any defects are recognized in the taps, links or pipes during the test.


Fire Resource

There is a large palce to set th fire and the fire has a lenght of about 65.1 meters which is heated the cyliniders directly.
We can use all kinds of flameable materials , but the point is tha we should consider the environmental pollution not to pollute the air.

 

Temperature and Pressure Measurement

 

The temperature of the cylinder is measured by  three strings of thermocouple which are placed every 75meter far from each other .Metal shields are used to prevent the flames of having a straight contact with the Thermocouple.


The Test Requirements

Cylinders should be filled with natural gas and tested under following pessures:

1. Working pressure
2. 25% of working pressure

 

Acceptable Results

The test is acceptable when the gas inside the cylinder frees by a special device.
